Sports Psychology Training for Sports Performance

High performance can be a lonely place, except when things go well.

When things go badly Sandler will be there to support you with Sports Psychology Training.

After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Canadian Olympic Committee commissioned a detailed study into trying to identify the key characteristics needed to get their performers onto the medal podium. They discovered that the 2 most important factors were: Athlete self-awareness and The relationship between the athlete and their coach

We can help at every level

  • Benchmarking

    We have unique set of benchmark tools that have been designed specifically for sport that provide insight into how athlete or coaches;

    • Are currently behaving
    • Why they might be behaving this way
    • And how they think they need to behave to perform
  • Coaching Methodology

    The 7 Step Sandler Coaching System.

    • Understand the problems
    • Establish a success profile by identifying the top 10 behaviours needed for success in each sport
    • A method of getting people back on track so that they can achieve and fulfil their potential
    • A structured support plan that is highly effective and enables sportspeople to achieve at the highest levels

Communication style used by many coaches is often confusing, lacking in explanation and can often be confrontational

Sandler has a number of key interventions that are often overlooked by many organisations seeking to help improve performance.

To ensure that any curriculum or programme developed has the highest chance for success, early in the analysis phase we benchmark your team, using our field-tested tools (Extended DISC, Devine Inventory) to identify individual behaviours and communication styles.

We also use the Sandler Team Assessment tool for identifying and quantifying the gap between the expectations of team members and any level of management. This information provides the vital “roadmap” to construct a training programme that is truly focused on the participant’s needs.
